A duplicated stock card could be accidentally created for an OTC item, or a drug added and next month the update adds the drug.
The many undesirable effects of duplicated stock cards;
Usage and sales appear to be being dropped, since the MTD (Month-to-date) figures are split between the two cards.
Stock-on-hand will be wrong, since that is split too.
Pricing will sometimes be wrong if one of the cards has a different cost/markup/retail, or no cost at all.
Profit similarly will be split.
Patient charges will be missed if a newly created drug card is not provided with them.
Ordering is badly affected since one card has too much stock and the other often no past usage to generate an order.
