Printer, Incorrect printing

[Revised Nov 01]

- If the printer is not printing at all, see Printer, Not printing.

- On a new printer, or if someone has altered the settings, see printer setup for specific printer e.g. HP Laserjet.

- If foil printing is incorrect, see Foil printer.

- If printing is technically correct with English characters, but not what you want, use Search now to search for the section that deals with what you want.. E.g. 'Pricing office label' if that is what you want to alter.

Printing garbage

- Consistent garbage, occurring the same each time on a particular patient, a particular script or a particular drug etc, indicate corrupted data being printed out, rather than a printer problem.

Missing first letter

On the 'HP Laserjet 6L' , and possibly other printers also, this requires adjustment by a trained RxOne installer working off the 'RxOne agents help' notes.

Page feeds on OKI 390, unwanted

Needs adjustment by a trained RxOne  installer working off the 'RxOne agents help' notes.

Other

- Random garbage characters, foreign characters, unwanted page feeds etc usually indicate some physical or setup problem. Try these steps, in order, until the problem is fixed;

1. Turn the printer itself (not the whole computer) off and back on. If that doesn't work,

2. Shut down the whole system, turn everything off, then push each end of each cable and out a few times to clean it. Restart the system and try again.

3. Has anyone changed anything in the Printer Setup, or installed any new software? If so please check the printer is set up correctly.
