[This task requires some computer knowledge]
The Hewlett Packard Laserjet 6L and some similar printers must be setup from the A:\SETUP.EXE program on the 3 disk install set.
1. The HP 6L must be set up in 'Host Mode' to function correctly. In Host Mode the processing is done on the computer and RxOne will print correctly. In PCL mode the processing is done in the printer and RxOne will not print correctly.
2. To set up in Host Mode the printer must be on a 'bi-directional' printer port. On most PC's LPT1 and LPT2 will be bi-directional whereas LPT3 may not.
To set up the HP Laserjet 6L, and similar printers
1. Plug in the printer to the power and computers LPT1 or LPT2 port.
2. Reboot the computer.
3. Insert disk 1 and run 'A:\SETUP.EXE'.
4. This should automatically detect the printer and offer to do a custom/standard install. If it does not there is probably some hardware conflict causing the printer not to be detected.
5. When it is set up go into 'Control panel/printers/HP Laserjet 6L/Properties/Paper tab. Select the 'Add...' button and enter in A5 paper (149mm x 210mm). Set this as the default paper type.
6. Save the printer settings and try printing a 'Test Page' and then a 'Phoned Script'.
