Note the Technician's notes for installation (emailing/faxing) are in BB with the relevant screen shots.
Instructions for Upgrading Computers (Hardware)
Important!
Make sure all Windows updates have been run and completed (i.e. not waiting to reboot to install)
Turn off password protected sharing and turn off UAC . (user access control)
Make sure internet access is working.
Reboot machine.
Install RxOne
What follows are the basic instruction to download and install RxOne, Please call HealthSoft if you need help with any of this. There may be delays when nothing APPEARS to be happening, while installing. Please be patient.
The link required is as follows:
http://s3.amazonaws.com/LOTSDownload/Setup.exe
Download the Setup.exe file (Note: may show as download “ UP.EXE”)
Create a new folder called ‘RxOne’ in the root of the C drive (if NOD32 Anti Virus is installed mark the RxOne folder as an exception). Share the folder to ‘Everyone’ with Read / Write access.
Then run the installer (SETUP.EXE) from the download, choose "typical" and install to the C:\RxOne folder (the one you’ve just created). NOTE: This setup will also install SQL SEVER 2008 R2 and SQL Management Studio automatically.
When asked leave the tick box ticked that says ‘Launch Program” and click on ‘finish’
If asked, say yes to the question about if the machine will be a master (even if it isn’t) and if the machine is going to be used in a pharmacy then say NO to if a DEMO DB is required.
RxOne should now be installed but you will have no database so the best way to check it is to create a user.
Open the RxOne start menu.
Go to Tools, Utilities Staff Utilities and Modify Staff. Add a new name with all privileges. You should be able to use RxOne now using this ID.
Choose which machine will be the Master give it a fixed IP address and make a note of this.
All slaves should then be repathed to look at the new master for the database. This is done by modifying the \RxOne\LOTSDISP.INI file on each of the slaves. For example, If the new master’s IP is 192.168.1.67 then change the path on the slave to:
[DATABASE]
Path to=\\192.168.1.67\RxOne\lotsdb
On all machines, Run => \RxOne\copymaster.exe.
If the machine you are replacing is a slave tick the "New machine will be a slave" button. Then select copy files.
If the machine is the master then select "copy files". Then select "copy database".
Test the setup by doing a sale on one machine. It should be viewable on ALL the others.
Please call HealthSoft if you need help..

Previous Notes
[Revised Feb 2013]
Please get a computer ready with the Windows operating system and run all Windows updates. Then, with the computer on the internet, call HealthSoft to install RxOne.
Important: Make sure all Windows updates have been run and completed (i.e. not waiting to reboot to install)
Turn off password protected sharing and turn off UAC . (user access control)
Make sure internet access is working.
Reboot machine.
Install RxOne
What follows are the basic instruction to download and install RxOne, Please call HealthSoft if you need help with any of this. There may be delays when nothing APPEARS to be happening , while installing. Please be patient.
The links required are as follows:
http://s3.amazonaws.com/LOTSDownload/Setup.exe
http://s3.amazonaws.com/LOTSDownload/SQLINSTLarge64.exe (for 64 bit machines)
http://s3.amazonaws.com/LOTSDownload/SQLINSTLarge.exe (for 32 bit machines)
Download the Setup.exe file and the correct version of the SQLINSTLarge.exe to suit your machine. If you are not sure what your machine is then copy both files.
Create a new folder called ‘RxOne’ in the root of the C drive. Copy the SQINSTALLLARGE.EXE or SQLINSTALLLARGE64.exe into the folder. (ONLY one of these needs to be downloaded depending on Windows version, if unsure however you can download and copy both to the RxOne folder)
If the machine is to be a master ‘share’ the folder to Everyone with read/write access.
Then run the installer (SETUP.EXE) from the first download, choose "typical" and install to the C:\RxOne folder ( the one you’ve just created).
When asked, leave the tick box ticked that says ‘Launch Program” and click on ‘finish’
If asked, say yes to the question about if the machine will be a master (even if it isn’t) and if the machine is going to be used in a pharmacy then say NO to if a DEMO DB is required.
Once RxOne and SQL are installed run: \RxOne\Updatenet.exe /progress
RxOne should now be installed but you will have no database so the best way to check it is to create a user. Open the RxOne start menu. Go to TOOLS, UTILITIES STAFF UTILITIES and MODIFY STAFF. Add a new name with all privileges. You should be able to use RxOne now using this ID.
If swapping a slave:
Please copy the RxOne folder off the machine that you are replacing, rename it to something like OLDLOTS and copy it to the new machine.
Copy anything else off the old machine that you may want such as documents, mail or internet bookmarks etc.
If known give the new machine the same network name as the machine that it is replacing.
Copy the OLD .INI files from the old RxOne folder over the top of the default .INI files in the new RxOne folder on the new machine.. This will configure most of the settings (such as label layout, path etc) from the old machine. If the OLD machine or RxOne folder is not available then try using the .INIs from a machine doing a similar job in the pharmacy
Configure printers etc.
If swapping a master
Apart from the database the master machine also carries a lot of files that are required for the running of the pharmacy such as Claim files, order backups and archives etc.
To copy these we have a program called “copymaster.exe” The easiest way to use copymaster is to have the old master and the new machine on the network at the same time (if not then the files can be copied to an external drive). Then on the old master run the program from the run command
\RxOne\COPYMASTER.EXE.
Fill in the names of the old machine and new machine and if it is a new computer also tick the “Copy INI’s’ option.
Then click COPY FILES. And wait for this to finish.
Then (as long as the pharmacy is finished for the day) do a backup on the old master. Use a Flashdrive and run \RxOne\LOTSBACK.EXE Take the flashdrive to the NEW master and run RxOne\LOTSREST.EXE to restore it.
The new machine should then be ready to be used as the new master. To test this all sales and scripts should be viewable and staff IDs will work. If this does not work call HealthSoft for advice.
All slaves should then be repathed to look at the new master for the database. This is done by modifying the \RxOne\LOTSDISP.INI file on each of the slaves. For example, If the new masters network name is NEWMASTER then change the path on the slave to:
[DATABASE]
Path to=\\NEWMASTER\RxOne\lotsdb The IP address of the new master could be used instead of the UNC name.
Remember to update the OLD master’s LOTSDISP.INI to have this path as well.
Test the setup by doing a sale on one machine. It should be viewable on ALL the others.
Please call HealthSoft if you need help..
