If an 'Own drug' with no NHS code (or an invalid NHS code) has been dispensed the item cannot be claimed since the pricing office will not pay on an unrecognised item. Claims will exclude it from the claim and show it in the exception report as 'Invalid NHS code'.
To correct
Assign a valid correct NHS code to the drug card, or edit the script and choose another drug which does have a valid code. Run the exception report again to confirm that it is now claimable, then make up the claim.
