[Revised June 1998]T
RxOne allows a Pharmacode to be defined for those common extemps which have their formula known to the pricing office and which have been given a Pharmacode. Although they have a Pharmacode, they cannot be treated as single ingredient items when dispensing since RxOne needs to know the formula and treat them as extemps, for stock control. When defining a new extemp (or editing an existing one), always specify the Pharmacode if one exists. This is quoted by SmartClaim.
If a Pharmacode is not defined, SmartClaim quotes the PDE and quantity for each ingredient. The Pricing office computer calculates the total price payable (as for single item scripts).
Complex extemps (those with tablets/capsules etc crushed as an ingredient) are covered in a separate topic.
