To see formula of an existing Extemp/Mixture
If given a code at time of creation;
Lookup under the code;
1. When the 'Drug' box is highlighted during normal dispensing of a script, select the Extemp button. If any other drug details are on the screen at this time they will be deleted.
2. Select the extemp required, either by typing its code, by pressing the <up/down arrow cursor keys> and selecting, or by clicking on the arrow on the RHS and selecting.
3. The ingredients of the mixture will now be shown in the list box. The Total Quantity box will now be highlighted. Enter the total prescription quantity of this mixture here and the quantity of each ingredient will be calculated.
To printout formula
Press 'Print'
If NOT given a code at time of creation
If not given a code at time of creation, obviously the formula cannot be looked up by code. Always give code if the formula is going to be required later, since the code is the method of lookup of formulae.
In case of emergency the formula of any extemp can be forced by making the particular script a 'phoned script' and then asking for the phoned script to be printed out... from 'Window', Reports, Dispensary reports, Phoned Script, by Person, by Phoned script (not 'summary'), Next, specify the person who had this extemp, set the date to include the period, and ask to Print the phoned script with its formula. More formulae may print that are required, but will include the required one.
Notes
1. An extemporaneous script can have any number of ingredients.
2. All ingredients must be have a stock card so that the total adds to 100%, though there could be a stock card named 'Unknown item'.
