Four methods of discounting are provided to handle the requirements of particular pharmacies. Discounts will only be accepted from staff members authorised to give them.
The first three types are applied as one action to all items on screen at the time.
Standard discount. Price change, Discount, or use the quick key <F5>, applies the standard discount. Typically set to a low level for club members, local Dr nurses etc.
Special discount. Price change, Special discount, or use the quick key <F6>, to apply the special discount. Typically set to a higher level for pharmacy staff discounts.
To change the discount levels of F5 and F6:
To set up your own preferred levels of discounting in Point-of-Sale using the F5 and F6 buttons go to the RxOne Start Menu, ‘Tools’ and ‘Options’. Click on the ‘Switchboard’ Tab and enter the discount amounts you would like to use for Shop Items and/or Private Scripts. When selling a product press either F5 or F6 and shop items and private scripts will discount accordingly. Note that choosing ‘No Discount’ on a Stock Card will prevent particular stock items from being discounted in Point-of-Sale.
Variable discount. Price change, Variable discount. Asks the percentage required.
No Discount: To ensure an item is unable to be discounted in a sale tick the ‘No Discount’ checkbox on the Options tab in Stock Cards. With this option ticked the stock item won’t be able to be further discounted when sold. (This is particularly useful for items on Special).
Individual item discount Use the cursor keys to focus on the 'discount' box beside each item on screen, and enter the individual percentage required for each item.
The standard and special discounts are preset in the system. If you'd like to change these preset discount amounts then please call HealthSoft, or see below.
It is possible to set up a discount amount of your choice using the new "Discount in POS" fields in Options (Tools, Options). Set the discounts up in RxOne Options and press F5 before the end of the sale to discount all items in the sale. Remember you can still use the F3 key for a variable discount and the F6 key for a 20% discount on shop lines.
