Pharmacist interventions into the patient's treatment can be recorded against a script item and collated together on a 'Intervention Report'.

 

To add an intervention,

On the Main dispensary' screen or on a patient history, highlight script item, then right mouse click on 'add/edit intervention'.  You can also click the 'Add/Edit Intervention' button next to the comments box when in a script.

A form will come up with seven reasons;

Payment issue

Prescription Clarification/Omission

Product Availability

Adverse Drug Reaction

Drug Interaction

Drug Allergy

Drug Therapy Problem

 

and six grades of interventions;

Bureaucratic

Save patient money by generic substitution or similar intervention

Clarified or interpreted prescriber's intentions

Optimised drug therapy such as by improving compliance or patient lifestyle

Prevented a moderate or serious threat to health

Prevent a potentially life threatening incident

 

Select the reasons and grades by clicking with mouse or typing in the numbers

There is a drug card called "Drug Not Dispensed", which can be used for any drugs not dispensed because of the intervention. I.e. Dispense 'Drug Not Dispensed' to patient and record name of drug in instructions.

 

To report Interventions

In Reports; Script Reports, Interventions.

To save the Intervention Report onto external media

Select the 'Export' button, the "Save as" screen will come up.  In the "Save in" box select the correct drive and enter in a file name and then select 'Save'.
