Report, Short Script Statistics

[Revised Mar 10]

There are three reports that show Drug Costs, Statistics, and Analysis from various viewpoints.

- Report, Script Statistics (short)

- Report, Script Statistics (Detailed)

- Report, Drug Cost Analysis

See the links below for these related topics. it is worthwhile to look at all three to see which provides the view that suits your needs best.

This report 'Script Stats (short)' shows an abbreviated set of stats. for costs and analysis of the days work.

To report

For convenience, this can be reached from several places in RxOne;

-- From the Dispensing module, at any time during the day (even in the middle of dispensing). Report (or Report, depending on place in the program), then General Dispensary Reports, then Dispensary Statistics Report.

-- Or from the RxOne Start Menu, Reports, Statistic Report, Dispensary Statistics Report.

Follow the choices on screen, pressing Next to move to the next choice and Finish when finished selecting.

You can also "Export" the data to other programs.

The Dispensary Statistics Report has an option ‘Show Generic Breakdown’. With this option selected, a generic script /non-generic script breakdown will show at the bottom of the report. This gives you a percentage of each type of script, as well as a Generic Conversion Rate, ie. the percentage of scripts that had a generic available, that were actually dispensed as a generic.

Note the explanation of the information at the bottom of the report.

Interpretation notes

- Govt contribution = expected ''Medicare Australia'' payment incl GST (i.e. The Subsidy price minus patient contribution)

- Patient contribution = Prescription charge, excludes the premium.

- Premiums = The Premium AND also additional fees such as after hours fee, foil fees.

- Cost = Actual ingredient Cost to Pharmacy before GST

- The Govt general subsidy will be shown on the report for all scripts, unless the other custom price options such as Govt- hosp have been selected at the stage of dispensing. These figures will show the expected ''Medicare Australia'' payment/subsidy and are dependent on the markup and Dispensing Fee inputted in the respective options in the Price Option. (i.e. for Govt-general, it uses the claimable NHS markups and Dispensing Fee)

Generics = number of generics dispensed

Generics Available = the number of drugs dispensed that had an available generic

Generic conversion Rate = the percentage of generic drugs dispensed that had a generic available

- Throughout 'RxOne';

- all cost prices are cost excluding GST/VAT etc.

- all retail prices include GST/VAT

- all profits take GST/VAT into account, but do not include it.

E.g. supposing cost was 1.00, markup was 50% = 1.50 and GST/VAT was 10% so the retail = 1.65. The cost will be reported as 1.00, the gross profit reported as 0.50 and 50%, and the retail reported as 1.65
